EssilorLuxottica reported third-quarter 2026 revenue on Oct. 20, 2026, that exceeded analyst expectations, lifting its stock. The company said resilient core eyewear and strong online sales offset slowing momentum in its wearable devices as it prepared new AI-glass and Nuance Audio launches for the holiday season.
Revenue Growth and Segment Performance
EssilorLuxottica said consolidated group revenue reached €7,486 million in Q3, up 9.0% at current exchange rates and 7.2% at constant exchange rates, surpassing an analyst consensus near €7.36 billion. Revenue for the first nine months rose 6.8% at current exchange rates and 8.9% at constant exchange rates to €22,304 million.
The company highlighted its eyecare, eyewear, and medtech businesses as a strong growth engine, expanding more than 6% in both the quarter and year to date. Direct-to-consumer sales increased 10.6% at constant exchange rates to €4.093 billion, while comparable-store sales rose 6.8%. Professional Solutions revenue grew 3.4% at constant exchange rates to €3.393 billion. The myopia-management portfolio expanded 24% in the quarter and year to date. These gains offset slower growth in wearables.
Regionally, Asia-Pacific led with 15.7% growth at constant exchange rates, followed by EMEA at 7.5%, Latin America at 7.1%, and North America at 4.7%. The company also outlined a five-year plan targeting solid revenue growth and broadly aligned adjusted operating profit increases on average over that period. Analysts estimate full-year revenue near €30.08 billion.
Wearables Growth and Market Reaction
The wearables category, which includes AI glasses and Nuance Audio, rose 20% in Q3, reaching about €486 million or roughly 6.5% of group revenue. However, smart-glasses growth slowed sharply from nearly 100% in Q2 to the combined wearables growth rate reported for Q3.
EssilorLuxottica said new AI-glass launches and the rollout of Nuance Audio Plus are expected to support wearables during the holiday season, signaling a product-driven effort to regain momentum.
Following the revenue announcement, shares rose more than 11% at 03:45 a.m. ET on Oct. 21, reflecting investor confidence that strong traditional eyewear and online sales could offset concerns about moderating smart-glasses growth.
