On Nov. 4, 2026, Snap Inc. (SNAP) reported Q3 earnings that fell short of some revenue and daily-user forecasts even as the company returned to GAAP profitability and generated stronger cash flow. The results shifted focus to advertising growth, subscription revenue, and the firm’s guidance for the fourth quarter.
Results, Profitability, and Cash Flow
Snap reported revenue of $1.7 billion for the three months ended Sept. 30, 2026, up 14% from the prior year, according to its Nov. 4 press release and SEC filing. The company swung to GAAP net income of $56 million, or $0.03 a share, compared with a $104 million loss a year earlier. Adjusted EBITDA rose to $383 million from $182 million, exceeding the cited estimate of $337 million.
Operating cash flow increased 44% year over year to $210 million, while free cash flow jumped 76% to $164 million. The company presented these revenue, net income, adjusted EBITDA, and cash-flow figures as unaudited quarterly results.
Users, Revenue Mix, and Guidance
Daily active users (DAU) reached 495 million in Q3, up slightly from 493 million in Q2 and 477 million a year earlier. Monthly active users (MAU) rose 4% year over year to 977 million. Regional DAU totaled 92 million in North America, 98 million in Europe, and 305 million in the rest of the world.
Advertising revenue grew 4% year over year, while Other Revenue—driven by Snapchat+, Memories Storage, and Lens+—rose 84%. Paid subscribers surpassed 30 million. Management said advertising growth remained below the company’s ambitions.
Snap’s guidance for the quarter ending Dec. 31, 2026, calls for revenue between $1.95 billion and $1.99 billion and adjusted EBITDA of $490 million to $525 million.
Starting with Q1 2027 results, Snap will make global MAU its primary audience metric and discontinue regional DAU and regional average revenue per user (ARPU) reporting. The company said DAU remains an important engagement measure but is not the best gauge of long-term value.
