Sanofi and Regeneron expanded their alliance on Oct. 1, 2026, adding four next-generation long-acting immunology antibodies and establishing a closer joint-development and commercialization framework.

Deal Terms and Economics

Sanofi will pay Regeneron $1 billion upfront, with Regeneron eligible for up to $7 billion in development, regulatory, and commercial milestone payments, bringing the deal’s maximum value to $8 billion. The companies will share development and commercialization costs equally and split future profits 50:50 globally. Regeneron will lead research and development for the new programs, while Sanofi will oversee global commercialization. The existing profit-sharing terms for Dupixent (dupilumab) remain unchanged.

The milestone payments depend on development, regulatory, and commercial achievements. By maintaining Dupixent’s economics and equally dividing costs and profits for the new candidates, the agreement clarifies how proceeds will be allocated as the programs advance.

Clinical Programs and Timeline

The expanded collaboration covers four Regeneron-originated next-generation, long-acting antibodies targeting pathways linked to type 2 inflammation: IL-13, an IL-4×IL-13 bispecific mechanism, IL-4, and IL-4 receptor alpha. REGN20423, a Regeneron-invented long-acting IL-13 monoclonal antibody, is in a Phase 1 study for atopic dermatitis. The other three programs—a long-acting IL-4×IL-13 bispecific and two additional preclinical antibodies—are expected to enter clinical trials in 2027.

Regeneron has an option to include Sanofi’s lunsekimig, an investigational bispecific Nanobody targeting TSLP and IL-13, after completing its Phase 3 trials for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. The expanded alliance builds on the companies’ collaboration that produced Dupixent and places the new candidates under shared development and commercial responsibilities.

Settlement and Announcement

The companies said they settled earlier litigation related to their collaboration. They issued a joint announcement from Paris and Tarrytown, New York, and scheduled an investor and analyst conference call to discuss the expanded partnership.
