MongoDB, Inc. (MDB) reported fourth-quarter earnings that exceeded expectations, but its March 2, 2026 guidance for the first quarter and fiscal 2027, along with announced leadership changes, cloud near-term revenue prospects for investors.

Quarter Results and Financials

For the quarter ended January 31, 2026, MongoDB reported total revenue of $695.1 million, up 27% year over year, including subscription revenue of $673.1 million and services revenue of $22.0 million. GAAP net income was $15.5 million, or $0.18 per share, while non-GAAP net income reached $142.7 million, or $1.65 per share, surpassing the $1.47 consensus. President and CEO CJ Desai said, "We delivered strong fourth quarter results driven by our continued go-to-market execution and the broad-based demand we are seeing across our product lines."

Atlas revenue rose 29% year over year to $502.6 million, and billings increased 32.3% to $798 million. The company added 2,700 customers, bringing the total to 65,200, with 2,799 customers generating more than $100,000 in annual recurring revenue.

Margins and cash flow remained strong. Fourth-quarter gross margin was 73% GAAP and 75% non-GAAP. Free cash flow totaled $176.7 million, and cash and short-term investments stood at $2.4 billion.

For fiscal 2026, MongoDB reported revenue of $2.46 billion, including $1.81 billion from Atlas. The company posted a GAAP net loss of $71.2 million and non-GAAP net income of $430.8 million. Free cash flow for the year was $492.6 million.

Guidance and Leadership Changes

MongoDB forecast first-quarter fiscal 2027 revenue between $659 million and $664 million, with a GAAP operating loss of $48 million to $44 million. It projected non-GAAP earnings per share of $1.15 to $1.19. For the full fiscal year, revenue guidance ranged from $2.86 billion to $2.90 billion, implying 16% to 18% growth. The company expects a GAAP operating loss of $117 million to $97 million and non-GAAP net income per share between $5.75 and $5.93. This outlook assumes continued go-to-market execution and demand for Atlas and AI offerings.

Leadership changes include Erica Volini’s appointment as chief customer officer effective March 3, 2026. Chief Revenue Officer Paul Capombassis will remain through the first quarter of fiscal 2027 before transitioning to an advisory role. Cedric Pech, president of field operations, will resign effective April 15, 2026. The board adopted amended bylaws granting proxy access to long-term stockholders. The company said the search for a new CRO is in its latter stages.

The combination of a fourth-quarter revenue and EPS beat, strong Atlas growth, and cautious forward guidance, along with executive transitions, shifts investor focus to MongoDB’s execution as it enters fiscal 2027.
