IonQ reported record third-quarter revenue of $173.8 million for the period ended Sept. 30, 2026, up 336% year over year. On Nov. 5, 2026, the company raised full-year 2026 revenue guidance to $505 million–$515 million, citing strong demand for its Tempo quantum computing systems, quantum-sensing and space-based solutions, and the SkyWater acquisition. It also reported an expanded backlog and increased liquidity.
Record Quarter and Raised Guidance
IonQ described the quarter as its sixth consecutive record period. The company posted GAAP net income attributable to IonQ of $564.0 million and GAAP earnings per share of $1.42, which included a noncash mark-to-market adjustment from warrants. On an operational basis, IonQ reported an adjusted EBITDA loss of $133.6 million and an adjusted EPS loss of $0.29.
The company said revenue, GAAP EPS, and adjusted EPS exceeded consensus estimates. It projected 110% year-over-year growth in quantum computing revenue for 2026, linking the outlook to accelerating commercial demand across its systems and services.
Niccolo de Masi, chairman and CEO, said, “I am pleased to report that IonQ delivered its sixth consecutive quarter of record results and the strongest quarter in our company’s history.”
Liquidity, Backlog, and Growth Drivers
As of Sept. 30, 2026, IonQ held $1.7 billion in cash, cash equivalents, and investments. Pro forma liquidity rose to $3.7 billion after a $2.0 billion equity offering closed on Oct. 16, 2026. The company said the added capital supports investment in technology, manufacturing infrastructure, and commercial capabilities.
Remaining performance obligations (RPOs), defined as the transaction price allocated to unsatisfied or partially unsatisfied contract obligations including funded and unfunded portions, totaled $1.2 billion. IonQ cited global deployments of its Tempo quantum computers, deliveries of quantum-sensing and space-based solutions, and the completed SkyWater acquisition as key growth drivers. Quantum computing accounted for roughly two-thirds of new contract dollars signed by the IonQ Platform segment.
The quarter’s revenue growth, raised guidance, expanded backlog, and stronger liquidity reflect management’s confidence that commercial deployments and product deliveries will sustain revenue growth through 2026.
