Airbnb (ABNB) on May 20, 2026, launched its “2026 Summer Release,” expanding its platform with grocery delivery, airport pickups, luggage storage, car rentals, boutique hotels, and AI trip-planning tools. The company said these additions broaden services across its travel ecosystem.

Adds Grocery Delivery, Car Rentals and Boutique Hotels

In a company news release, Airbnb said it will offer grocery delivery through Instacart in more than 25 U.S. cities, airport pickups via Welcome Pickups in over 160 cities worldwide, and luggage storage through Bounce at more than 15,000 locations in 175 cities. The company said it is “adding new categories of services to make every part of your trip easier.”

Select services and experiences are available now in certain countries. Car rentals, a redesigned homepage, a shared-itinerary feature, and other app updates will roll out later this summer.

Airbnb will also add boutique and independent hotels in 20 destinations, including New York, Paris, London, Madrid, Rome, and Singapore.

Airbnb AI Tools and Platform Scale

The app update integrates AI tools designed to generate review summaries, create property comparisons, speed customer-support responses, and assist hosts in listing creation. A voice-based AI assistant is expected later this year.

Airbnb said its platform now contains more than 1 billion reviews from guests and hosts. It offers over 3,000 experiences near landmarks and more than 2,500 culinary experiences. The company is also adding FIFA World Cup 2026 experiences in six host cities.

CEO Brian Chesky described the strategy as building an “ecosystem of services” to simplify travel planning and day-of travel for guests and hosts.
