SanDisk earnings released Oct. 29, 2026 showed a strong revenue and profit surge, and the board approved an eight-for-one forward split as management said robust data-center demand underpinned the quarter ahead of its investor call.
Revenue, Profit and Business Mix
For the quarter ended Oct. 2, 2026, SanDisk reported fiscal first-quarter 2027 revenue of $11.0 billion, up 23.0% sequentially and 378.0% year over year, the company said in a press release. GAAP gross margin was 85.0%, operating income was $8.8 billion, and net income was $8.1 billion, producing diluted earnings per share (EPS) of $52.60. On a non-GAAP basis, gross margin was 85.1%, operating income was $8.9 billion, and net income was $7.6 billion, yielding diluted EPS of $49.51, sharply higher than $1.22 a year earlier. The company noted some period-to-period comparisons reflected large-scale changes.
Data-center revenue rose 61.0% sequentially, while consumer revenue declined 29.0% sequentially to $397 million. The company reported $5.0 billion in share repurchases for the quarter. “We have started fiscal year 2027 with another quarter of strong performance, with robust and growing demand for our products driving outpaced growth in our data center business,” said David Goeckeler, chairman and chief executive.
The top-line result exceeded the roughly $10.7 billion consensus cited before the release.
Outlook, Stock Split and Capital Returns
Management forecast fiscal second-quarter 2027 revenue between $12.2 billion and $12.6 billion and non-GAAP diluted EPS of $55 to $57 on a pre-split basis, assuming 151 million fully diluted shares. The company also presented a split-adjusted EPS equivalent of $6.88 to $7.13 under the larger post-split share count. Non-GAAP gross margin is expected in the mid-80% range, about 84.5% to 85.5%, reflecting modest like-for-like price increases.
The board approved an eight-for-one forward stock split through an amendment to SanDisk’s certificate of incorporation. Holders of record at the close of business on Nov. 9, 2026, will receive seven additional shares for each share held. The company expects to issue the additional shares after market close on Nov. 19, 2026, with split-adjusted trading beginning at the open on Nov. 20, 2026, as disclosed in a Form 8-K.
Together, the revenue and EPS rebound, the buyback program, and the forward split will materially change the company’s share count and per-share comparability while highlighting management’s focus on data-center growth and capital returns.
