On July 29, 2026, Robinhood Markets, Inc. (NASDAQ: HOOD) reported record quarterly revenue and earnings, driven by elevated trading across equities, options, and event contracts, alongside increased customer deposits. The results materially exceeded consensus estimates and prompted a rapid reassessment of pre-earnings positioning.

Record Quarter and Revenue Mix

Robinhood reported total net revenues of $1.31 billion for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, a 32% increase year-over-year. Diluted earnings per share rose 48% to $0.62, while net income reached $573 million, up from $386 million a year earlier.

Transaction-based revenues led growth, totaling $776 million, up 44% year-over-year. Event contracts contributed $156 million after surging more than tenfold. Options revenue increased 29% to $342 million, and equities revenue nearly doubled to $129 million. Cryptocurrency revenue declined 38% to $100 million. Net interest revenue rose 9% to $389 million, supported by growth in interest-earning assets but partly offset by lower short-term rates and securities lending. Other revenues grew 54% to $143 million, mainly from Trump Account service fees and increased Robinhood Gold subscriptions. This shift in trading mix significantly reshaped Robinhood’s revenue toward transaction-based streams.

Customer Flows and Product Scale

Net deposits hit a record $22 billion for the quarter, reflecting strong customer cash inflows. Management continues to highlight net deposits as a core "North Star" metric for the business. Robinhood Gold subscribers also reached a record 4.8 million.

The company noted expansion across product lines, with 13 business lines now generating more than $100 million in annualized revenues. Robinhood Legend, a higher-tier offering, surpassed $100 million in annualized revenue about 18 months after its launch. Chairman and CEO Vlad Tenev said, “We delivered record revenues and drove new highs across equity, option, and event contract volumes, as we continue to win market share. Our product velocity continues to deliver new products for customers and drive a more diversified business.”

Before the release, consensus estimates clustered near the low-$1.2 billion range for revenue and roughly $0.40 for EPS. Trading showed signs of de-risking ahead of the report, but the upside surprise prompted a swift reassessment of risk.
