Ericsson’s Q3 results on October 15, 2026, showed 7% organic sales growth led by Networks and stronger segment margins, supporting a more positive near-term outlook despite a flat radio-access-network (RAN) market and rising component costs.
Quarter Results and Profitability
The company reported sales of SEK 59.5 billion, up 6% from SEK 56.2 billion a year earlier, with organic growth in three of four market areas. The release attributed the growth to solid customer demand in strategic markets and near-term commercial actions. Adjusted EBITA, a measure of operating profit before certain items, reached SEK 10.1 billion, yielding a 17.0% margin. Adjusted gross income rose to SEK 28.4 billion, with an adjusted gross margin of 47.7%, slightly below 48.1% in Q3 2025. The prior year included a divestment-related gain that complicates comparisons.
Reported EBITA was SEK 9.2 billion, a 15.5% margin. Reported net income declined to SEK 5.8 billion from SEK 11.3 billion, and diluted earnings per share fell to SEK 1.77 from SEK 3.33.
Segments and Capital Position
Networks drove growth with sales of SEK 38.7 billion, up 9% year over year. Its adjusted gross margin was 50.3%, and it contributed SEK 9.0 billion to adjusted EBITA, implying a 23.1% segment margin. Cloud Software and Services posted SEK 15.8 billion in sales, up 3%, with adjusted EBITA near SEK 2.0 billion and a margin in the low teens. Enterprise sales declined 10%, reflecting the iconectiv divestment; organic sales rose about 1%, but the segment recorded a negative adjusted EBITA of SEK 0.5 billion. Intellectual-property licensing revenue increased to SEK 3.9 billion, up SEK 0.8 billion year over year. Operating expenses excluding restructuring charges fell about SEK 0.7 billion to SEK 18.4 billion.
Free cash flow before mergers and acquisitions was SEK 4.9 billion. The release reported SEK 4.8 billion returned to shareholders through share repurchases, though other sources cited SEK 4.5 billion, indicating a discrepancy requiring clarification. Net cash rose sequentially to SEK 60.7 billion from SEK 59.8 billion, providing flexibility for buybacks and investment.
Per Narvinger was identified as president and chief executive in his first earnings call in that role. The company did not provide full-year revenue or earnings guidance. Earnings-call coverage reported Q4 Networks adjusted gross-margin guidance of 49% to 51%. Management said restructuring charges would be elevated in 2026 and described geopolitical uncertainty and component costs as headwinds to gross margin. Pricing, supply-chain, and efficiency measures may take time to offset these pressures.
The company announced a simplification of its operating structure, including a unified Asia-Pacific market area effective January.
