Anduril Industries (P‑ADUI) and Qualcomm Technologies (QCOM) announced the BlueChip Laptop on Oct. 27, 2026, a U.S.-designed and assembled rugged laptop for government, defense, first-responder, and public-safety users. The companies plan to begin taking orders in 2027.

BlueChip Product and Manufacturing Details

The BlueChip line features a rugged laptop designed and assembled in the United States for critical government and defense applications. Anduril has developed functional prototypes and will lead manufacturing development and supplier qualification. Qualcomm will supply its Snapdragon X Series platform, which provides general-purpose processing, graphics, and on-device artificial intelligence.

Anduril plans circuit-board assembly and final laptop manufacturing at its Arsenal-1 facility in Ohio, which serves as the hub for domestic assembly work related to BlueChip. Components sourced from U.S. and allied-country suppliers account for more than 90% of the prototypes’ component procurement cost. Anduril is developing U.S. production capabilities for enclosures, battery components, and other hardware, and is working to incorporate U.S.-made display glass.

The companies outlined a phased approach to expand domestic sourcing, reduce reliance on foreign suppliers, and ultimately establish an end-to-end American supply chain. This initiative aims to rebuild U.S. computer manufacturing by linking a U.S.-built assembly program with an AI-capable computing platform, potentially reshaping how defense and government buyers source critical hardware.

“Beginning with a U.S.-built laptop powered by the Snapdragon® X Series platform, BlueChip will establish the manufacturing capabilities and supplier base needed to bring computer production back to America,” Qualcomm said in its Oct. 27 release.
