Autodesk, Inc. (ADSK) reported fiscal 2027 first-quarter results on May 28, 2026, showing stronger-than-expected execution. The company also announced a definitive agreement to acquire MaintainX, extending its platform into operations and asset-lifecycle workflows.

Q1 Results and Outlook

For the quarter ended April 30, 2026, Autodesk reported revenue of $1.93 billion, up 18.0% year over year and 16.0% in constant currency, exceeding the high end of its guidance range. The company highlighted continued progress in subscription metrics and its strategy to unify design, make, and operate workflows.

The release emphasized Autodesk’s focus on AI-enabled capabilities, stating, “Our customers need AI that produces outputs that are accurate in the real world.” The company raised portions of its full-year fiscal 2027 outlook alongside the results.

Investors had closely watched execution amid earlier changes, including a 7.0% workforce reduction in January 2026 and debates over sustainability after multiple quarters of outperformance. The quarter’s results and updated guidance signal both operational strength and strategic momentum for the year.

MaintainX Acquisition Expands Platform

Autodesk entered a definitive agreement to acquire MaintainX in an all-cash transaction valued at approximately $3.6 billion, to be funded with cash on hand and debt financing. MaintainX is a cloud-native maintenance and operations software provider that helps customers manage maintenance, inspections, and operations workflows.

MaintainX expects to exceed $135 million in annualized recurring revenue (ARR) for calendar 2026, with ARR growth above 50%. Autodesk positioned the acquisition as a strategic step to broaden its addressable market from design and make into operations and asset lifecycle workflows.

The company said the deal advances its unified platform into operations, enhancing its ability to connect real-world data and 3-D context across the asset lifecycle. It aims to extend engagement with assets from years to decades while enabling higher-value system-level AI. The transaction is subject to regulatory reviews and customary closing conditions and is expected to close later in fiscal 2027.
