Uber Technologies (NYSE: UBER) announced at its GO-GET event on April 29, 2026, a partnership with Expedia Group (NYSE: EXPE) that adds hotel bookings to the Uber app. The integration includes more than 700,000 properties worldwide and new AI voice tools, broadening Uber’s travel and lifestyle services while creating cross-sell opportunities across rides and Eats.
Hotel Bookings and Membership Benefits
The partnership lets U.S. users search, browse, and book hotels inside the Uber app via a new "hotels" icon. The inventory covers over 700,000 properties globally, with filters for ratings, price, amenities, class, and brand. Pricing displays taxes, fees, and discounts upfront.
Uber One members receive 10% back in credits on bookings, which are deposited within 24 hours of check-in and can be used for rides and food during their stay. They also get at least 20% off a rotating selection of more than 10,000 hotels worldwide. This structure channels lodging incentives into on-platform wallets, aiming to deepen member engagement.
Starting June 2026, Uber rides will appear inside the Expedia app, accompanied by push notifications for discounted rides before hotel check-in. Vacation rentals from Vrbo will be added to the Uber app later in 2026.
AI Travel Features and International Expansion
Uber introduced AI-powered Voice Bookings, a conversational assistant that books rides and captures user preferences such as pet-friendly vehicles. The redesigned One Search "Where to?" bar now surfaces results across rides, food, and goods.
Travel Mode offers curated local recommendations, integrates OpenTable reservations, enables hotel room-service delivery via Uber Eats, and assists with forgotten items. Uber Reserve has been enhanced in select cities to allow riders to pre-order drinks and snacks via Uber Eats for pickup on pre-booked trips.
Uber One will expand internationally on June 1, 2026, allowing members to earn credits on rides abroad, enjoy $0 delivery fees, and redeem accumulated credits after returning home.
Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi said, "Uber is becoming an app for everything—helping people go, get, and now travel all in one place."
