The Trade Desk, Inc. (NASDAQ: TTD) said in a press release on Aug. 6, 2026, that its second-quarter earnings fell short of expectations and that third-quarter guidance was weaker, raising concerns about slowing revenue growth.
Q2 2026 Results
For the quarter ended June 30, 2026, The Trade Desk reported revenue of $715.1 million and adjusted earnings per share (EPS) of $0.34. Adjusted EBITDA, a proxy for operating profit, was $241.3 million. GAAP net income totaled $64.4 million, or $0.14 per diluted share. Revenue rose 3% from about $694 million a year earlier.
Six-month revenue reached $1.4 billion, up 7% year over year. CEO Jeff Green acknowledged the shortfall, saying, "This quarter did not meet the standard we set for ourselves, but it has reinforced our belief that we are focused on the right opportunities for the future."
Q3 2026 Guidance
The company forecast third-quarter revenue of at least $650 million and adjusted EBITDA near $160 million. This outlook contrasts with earlier management expectations of at least $750 million in second-quarter revenue and roughly $260 million in adjusted EBITDA.
Street consensus had clustered around $751 million to $753 million in second-quarter revenue and about $0.40 to $0.41 in adjusted EPS. The company’s guidance fell materially below those estimates, a key factor behind the market’s negative reaction and growing investor concern about slowing top-line momentum in ad tech.
