SK hynix reported a record second-quarter performance on July 28, 2026, driven by strong AI data-center demand for high-bandwidth memory (HBM). The company’s long-term partnership with NVIDIA increases visibility for next-generation memory supply.

Record Quarter Financials

SK hynix said in a press release on July 28 that second-quarter revenue reached 79.3 trillion won, operating profit 60.5 trillion won, and net profit 93.9 trillion won. Revenue rose 257% year over year, operating profit climbed 557%, and net profit jumped 1,242%, lifting the operating margin to 76%.

The company attributed the results to strong demand for advanced memory chips used in AI data centers, including HBM.

NVIDIA Partnership and Outlook

NVIDIA announced a long-term AI memory partnership with SK hynix and SK Group on July 28–29, describing the broader initiative as a $500-billion-plus program spanning AI factories and next-generation memory. The companies will secure next-generation memory supply and co-develop HBM solutions. NVIDIA said, "NVIDIA and SK hynix establish long-term partnership to secure and codevelop next-generation AI memory, including HBM."

SK hynix said it will reinforce production capacity and financial health while preparing for mid- to long-term growth opportunities and maintaining capital expenditure discipline. The company highlighted that HBM4 meets customer-required operating speeds and delivers industry-leading power efficiency and cost competitiveness as part of its next-generation product roadmap.

Some market reports noted the quarter’s record results contrasted with analysts’ forecasts, reflecting SK hynix’s heavier exposure to high-end AI memory rather than conventional memory price gains. Together, the results and the NVIDIA pact increase visibility for next-generation AI-memory supply and support a constructive near-term outlook for higher-value products.
