SAP SE (NYSE: SAP) said on May 12, 2026, that SAP Autonomous Enterprise, launched at Sapphire in Orlando, consolidates three prior products into a single SAP Business AI Platform. The platform deploys Joule Assistants and partner integrations to expand governed AI across core business functions.
Platform Consolidation and Capabilities
The Autonomous Enterprise platform unifies SAP Business Technology Platform, SAP Business Data Cloud, and SAP Business AI into a single governed environment. Joule Studio, SAP’s AI-first agent builder, supports no-code and pro-code development on SAP-managed infrastructure, enabling companies to assemble and refine task-driven assistants.
The suite includes more than 50 domain-specific Joule Assistants that orchestrate over 200 specialized agents across finance, supply chain, procurement, human capital management, and customer experience. SAP highlighted the Autonomous Close Assistant as an early use case, automating journal entries, reconciliations, and error resolution to reduce the financial close process from weeks to days.
Partnerships, Funding, and Product Timeline
Anthropic’s Claude will serve as the primary reasoning and agentic model powering Joule agents in HR, procurement, and supply-chain workflows. Christian Klein, SAP’s chief executive, said, "By uniting SAP Business AI Platform with SAP Autonomous Suite, we anchor AI agents in the business processes, data and governance so they can deliver accurate, compliant and secure outcomes, unlocking new sources of revenue and meaningful cost savings."
To accelerate partner development, SAP launched a €100 million partner fund supporting partners deploying SAP-built AI assistants or building new agents on the platform. RISE with SAP customers will receive three Joule Assistants activated within the first year, while SAP GROW customers gain access to the full Joule Assistants portfolio at onboarding. SAP also tied certain on-premises entitlements to migration commitments, offering select AI scenarios to customers running SAP S/4HANA on-premises or SAP ECC if they commit to transitioning most of their landscape to SAP Cloud ERP.
SAP outlined technical integrations spanning clouds and models: a zero-copy data link with Amazon Athena via AWS; bidirectional agent-to-agent interoperability with Google Cloud and Microsoft; a trusted runtime option supplied by NVIDIA’s OpenShell; and sovereign-model choices from Mistral AI and Cohere on SAP cloud infrastructure. Partners including n8n will provide visual orchestration tooling, Parloa will integrate agents into SAP Service Cloud, and SAP deepened its relationship with Palantir.
The Joule Work mobile app is generally available, while LiveKit voice in the mobile client is in Early Adopter Care with general availability planned for the second half of 2026. Desktop and agent-to-agent capabilities for Joule Work are scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026. SAP also plans AI-assisted contract creation for Ariba in June 2026 and Autonomous HCM—covering payroll, recruiting, workforce planning, upskilling, and organizational modeling—for November 2026.
SAP will integrate Dremio’s catalog capabilities into its Business Data Cloud to provide a unified access point for business context, access rights, and data lineage as it develops cross-system agent behavior. The Dremio acquisition is expected to close in the third quarter of 2026, subject to customary conditions and regulatory approvals.
