Samsung Electronics launched the Samsung Galaxy S26 series on Feb. 25, 2026, unveiling third-generation AI features including an upgraded Bixby assistant and Now Nudge. The phones will be available in the U.S. and other markets on March 11, 2026. Secondary reports cited model-specific price increases linked to rising memory chip costs.

Galaxy AI Features and Device Specifications

Samsung introduced Galaxy AI, a suite of on-device and network-connected tools designed to simplify tasks and enhance content capture. The third-generation AI includes an upgraded Bixby conversational agent and utilities such as Now Nudge, Now Brief, Photo Assist, Creative Studio with watermarking, and Circle to Search. These features require a Samsung Account and network access, vary by region and model, and Samsung notes their accuracy is not guaranteed. Basic AI functions are free, while enhanced or third-party capabilities follow separate terms.

The base Galaxy S26 features a 6.3-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 120Hz refresh rate, measuring 71.7 x 149.6 x 7.2 millimeters and weighing 167 grams. It runs either Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy or Samsung’s Exynos 2600 processor depending on the market. The phone ships with 12GB of RAM and offers 256GB or 512GB of storage. Its 4,300 mAh battery (rated at 4,175 mAh minimum) supports 25W wired charging, reaching 55% in 30 minutes.

The S26+ upgrades to a 6.7-inch screen but retains similar hardware and storage options. Samsung recommends a 45W wired adapter for faster charging on this model. The S26 Ultra offers a 6.9-inch QHD+ display and a premium camera setup led by a 200MP wide sensor that captures 47% more light than the S25 Ultra, alongside a 50MP telephoto lens and a 5,000 mAh battery.

All models run Android 16 with One UI 8.5 and support 5G, LTE, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 5.4. They carry an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, tested to withstand 1.5 meters of freshwater for 30 minutes. The phones support fast wireless charging 2.0 and Wireless PowerShare. The S26 and S26+ camera arrays include a 50MP main sensor, 12MP ultra-wide, 10MP telephoto, and 12MP front camera.

Pricing and Availability

Samsung said the Galaxy S26 series will be available in the U.S. and other markets on March 11, 2026. Product specifications and pricing may vary by market and carrier.

Secondary reports indicated some U.S. and South Korean models carry higher prices this cycle due to rising memory chip costs. These reports suggest the top-end Ultra model’s price remains unchanged and cite an unverified starting price of $899.

Samsung’s materials emphasize software and camera upgrades as the main improvements for the S26 line, positioning the series as a feature-led refresh ahead of its launch.

"Galaxy S26 series features an upgraded Bixby as a conversational device agent, making it more intuitive and easier than ever to interact with Galaxy devices," the company said.
