Loan and Revenue Strength
For the quarter ended June 30, 2026, Western Alliance reported net income of $269 million and GAAP diluted earnings per share of $2.36. The bank posted net revenue of $996 million, net interest income of $797 million, and a net interest margin of 3.5%, with an efficiency ratio near 58%.

Its annualized sequential loan growth accelerated to 8.3%, supported by a $2.3 billion commercial loan pipeline. The net interest margin improved to 3.6%, and non-interest income reached $54 million, aided by a $5 million pension-related gain.
East West posted net income of $364 million and diluted EPS of $2.63, with record total revenue and net interest income of $685 million at a 3.4% margin. Non-interest income rose more than 20% year over year to record levels, including fee income of $96 million.
Capital, Credit and Guidance
Western Alliance said deposit-cost optimization caused a sequential dip in deposits, even as asset quality improved and management increased share repurchases to deploy capital. Its funding mix includes about 34% non-interest-bearing deposits, a loan-to-deposit ratio near 75%, and a common equity tier 1 (CET1) ratio near 11%. Reserves were low, but recent charge-offs were manageable.
East West reported deposits up 8% year over year, with demand deposits rising $875 million in the quarter and non-interest-bearing balances up 19%. Loans increased 7% year over year, with residential mortgage and commercial and industrial loans each adding more than $300 million in the quarter. The allowance for credit losses was $842 million, or 1.4% of loans, with net charge-offs at 19 basis points. Capital ratios were strong, with CET1 at 15.4% and tangible common equity at 10.4%. East West raised full-year guidance for loan growth and net interest income and returned $111 million in dividends; the next dividend is payable Aug. 17, 2026.
WesBanco repurchased 0.3 million shares for $10 million during the quarter, closed 37 financial centers, and saw deposits decline $75 million sequentially as it retooled its footprint. It plans Florida branch openings in the first half of 2027. Executives reiterated expectations for mid-single-digit loan growth for the full year and highlighted a record-low efficiency ratio near 51%. Credit metrics remained strong, with net charge-offs around 2 basis points and an allowance covering about 1.1% of loans.
Collectively, the quarter’s loan growth, margin strength, and stable credit metrics positioned managements to pursue targeted expansion and capital returns, supporting a more constructive outlook for the regional-bank sector.
