Nvidia AI Infrastructure Australia announced on Sept. 9, 2026, that it is partnering with local cloud and data-center firms to expand capacity through its DSX platform to meet rising AI compute demand.
Capacity Expansion and Demand
The company said in a press release on Sept. 9, 2026, that the program aims to deliver up to 2 gigawatts of AI-related capacity by 2027. Nvidia framed the initiative as a response to growing demand for high-performance AI computing.
Partners and Operating Model
Nvidia is collaborating with Australian cloud partners and data centers to expand land, power, and shell capacity designed to host multiple generations of its DSX AI factories. Nvidia will supply the DSX platform along with accelerated computing, networking, software, and ecosystem support, while partners will operate the physical facilities.
Named partners include Firmus, Sharon AI, IREN, Megaport, ResetData, CDC, NEXTDC, and AirTrunk, a mix of cloud services and data centers. The company said expanded access to accelerated computing and Nemotron open models will support Australian startups, universities, researchers, enterprises, developers, and AI-native companies, citing Heidi and Atlassian as examples. Nvidia reposted the announcement on its Newsroom X account at 12:15 a.m. ET on Sept. 10.
This DSX-and-partner model allows Nvidia to scale distributed AI capacity through third-party operators while providing the underlying platforms and services, aligning with the company’s emphasis on rising AI demand.
