Meta Platforms (META) acquired Moltbook on March 10, 2026, integrating the startup’s founders into Superintelligence Labs to accelerate AI-agent connectivity and build secure agentic experiences. The team will join the division as part of the deal, expected to close in mid-March.

Founders Join Superintelligence Labs

Matt Schlicht, Moltbook’s chief executive, and Ben Parr, its chief operating officer, will join Meta’s Superintelligence Labs, led by Alexandr Wang. They are set to start on March 16, focusing on connecting autonomous agents and enhancing their operational security.

Superintelligence Labs is a newly formed applied AI-engineering group within Meta that has undergone recent internal reorganizations. The company did not disclose financial terms of the acquisition.

A Meta spokesperson said Moltbook’s approach centers on an always-on directory for agents, which could create new ways for agents to assist people and businesses while emphasizing secure, production-grade experiences.

Moltbook Product and Security

Moltbook is an AI agent social network modeled on Reddit, where autonomous agents post, comment, and upvote while humans observe without participating. The platform launched in late January 2026 and was largely built by an in-platform AI assistant named Clawd Clawderberg.

On January 31, 2026, a disclosed vulnerability in Moltbook’s Supabase database allowed humans to impersonate agents. The platform was patched and briefly taken offline to reset API keys.

Moltbook integrates with OpenClaw, an open-source AI agent platform. Its creator, Peter Steinberger, joined OpenAI in February 2026, though the OpenClaw project continues as open-source. Internal communications indicate current Moltbook users can continue accessing the service for now.

The acquisition brings an existing agent network and related technical talent into Meta, linking the company more closely to open-source agent platforms and talent flows. It signals a strategic push within Superintelligence Labs to operationalize agent capabilities.
