Credo Technology Group Holding Ltd reported record fiscal first-quarter 2027 revenue and raised its outlook in a Sept. 1, 2026 release, yet shares declined in extended trading despite strong margins.

Record Revenue and Margins

Credo reported fiscal Q1 2027 revenue of $479 million for the quarter ended Aug. 1, 2026, up 9.6% sequentially and 114.7% year over year. GAAP gross margin was 64.5%, while non-GAAP gross margin reached 68.0%. GAAP net income totaled $129 million, with non-GAAP net income at $236 million. GAAP diluted earnings per share were $0.67, and non-GAAP diluted EPS was $1.20. Operating expenses were $188 million on a GAAP basis and $95 million non-GAAP. Cash and short-term investments stood at $764 million at quarter-end.

Raised Outlook and Market Reaction

The company raised its fiscal Q2 revenue guidance to a range of $525 million to $535 million and projected Q2 gross margins between 67.0% and 69.0%. It also increased full-year fiscal 2027 revenue growth guidance to more than 85% year over year. Management reiterated an expectation that optical revenue would exceed $600 million for the year, attributing growth to AI infrastructure connectivity products.

Despite the strong results and raised outlook, shares fell in after-hours trading. The company’s release did not explain the decline, which contemporaneous reports attributed to investor reaction rather than any negative company news. This divergence highlights a disconnect between Credo’s operational momentum and immediate market sentiment. The firm’s high non-GAAP margins and substantial cash position support its expansion into higher-value optical products linked to AI infrastructure connectivity, as reflected in management’s guidance.
