CoreWeave (CRWV) reported on Aug. 11, 2026, that its backlog had surged, prompting the company to raise its full-year outlook despite substantial indebtedness and elevated capital spending.
Backlog and Revenue Momentum
CoreWeave’s revenue for Q2 2026 reached about $2.6 billion, up 112% year over year. The company reported a revenue backlog of approximately $104.2 billion as of June 30, 2026. This figure excludes more than $25 billion of net new customer commitments added in early Q3. The backlog includes remaining performance obligations and other amounts expected to be recognized as revenue under committed contracts, subject to delivery and service availability.
Management reported 1.5 gigawatts of active power and 4.2 gigawatts of contracted power, metrics tied to rising compute demand. Pricing for newer Blackwell and Vera Rubin GPU SKUs reached new highs, while prior-generation NVIDIA GPU pricing remained strong. The company said improving pricing and margins on newer inventory support near-term revenue conversion.
Debt, Capital Spending, and Guidance
CoreWeave raised its full-year 2026 revenue guidance to $12.4 billion to $13.2 billion and adjusted operating income guidance to $960 million to $1.15 billion. It also increased capital expenditure guidance to $35 billion to $39 billion and lifted its end-2026 annualized run-rate revenue target to $18.5 billion to $19.5 billion. Management attributed the higher targets to the size of contracted demand and stronger pricing on newer GPUs.
The company recorded $9.4 billion in capital expenditures during the quarter and engaged in substantial additional financing to support rapid expansion. Total debt stood at about $35.6 billion at quarter-end, highlighting the scale of ongoing financing needs as CoreWeave expands its data-center footprint.
Analysts noted the trade-off at the core of CoreWeave’s strategy: a multi-year pipeline of contracted work providing revenue visibility, balanced against capital-intensive rollout and heavy indebtedness that increase refinancing and execution risks. Converting the backlog into reported revenue depends on timely data-center build-outs and continued access to capital. The raised targets and stronger GPU pricing support a bullish near-term revenue outlook, but financing and execution remain critical.
