Cerebras Systems raised its 2026 full-year outlook on Aug. 12, 2026, boosting revenue and gross-margin targets while reporting a GAAP quarterly loss. The advance in Cerebras guidance left traders parsing the results in after-hours trading.

Quarter Results and Guidance

Cerebras said in a press release that for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, it posted GAAP revenue of $180.1 million and core revenue of $209.9 million, up 103% year-over-year. The core figure more than doubled from the year-ago period and drove the company’s updated outlook.

The company recorded a GAAP net loss of $450.5 million in the quarter, compared with a GAAP profit of $309.5 million a year earlier. This contrast highlighted the gap between rapid core-revenue growth and reported GAAP profitability.

For full-year 2026, Cerebras raised core-revenue guidance to $880 million to $890 million from a prior range of $855 million to $865 million. It also lifted expected core gross margin to 41%–43% from 38%–41%, while projecting a full-year core operating margin of negative 19% to negative 17%. The higher top-line and gross-margin targets alongside a forecasted negative operating margin indicate improving unit economics amid continued investment.

Market Reaction and Outlook

CBRS stock fell in extended trading after the release as investors weighed the surge in core revenue against the swing to a GAAP loss and the company’s continued projection of a negative full-year operating margin. The guidance increase reflected strong demand from customers expanding data-center capacity to power AI services.

Management signaled a third-quarter revenue target of $214 million to $216 million, above the $212.6 million average estimate. The company’s raised revenue and gross-margin targets alongside a negative operating margin suggest ongoing investment amid rapid top-line growth.
