Blackstone reported second-quarter 2026 results on July 23, 2026. Management attributed the profit surge and fundraising momentum to early, large-scale commitments to AI infrastructure and frontier AI companies.
Record Quarter and Scale
Blackstone Inc. (NYSE: BX) posted distributable earnings of $2.0 billion, up 26% year over year, equal to $1.52 per share. GAAP net income was $2.4 billion. Net accrued performance revenues reached $7.5 billion, or $6.00 per share, a 13% increase year over year. Management described fee-related earnings as among the firm’s top quarters on record.
Total assets under management reached a record $1.35 trillion, supported by $228.1 billion of dry powder available for new investments. The firm raised $8.6 billion through its private-wealth channel in the quarter, down from $10.0 billion in the prior quarter. Management reported robust inflows across institutional, insurance, and individual investor channels. Redemption requests from its BCRED private-credit vehicle slowed materially in July.
AI Investments Drive Returns
Management identified AI-linked positions as the largest source of recent valuation gains, noting that AI-related holdings accounted for nine of the 10 largest markups in the quarter. Blackstone’s dedicated Infrastructure platform appreciated 7.2% in the quarter and about 29% over the past 12 months. The commingled DIP strategy has delivered an 18% net annual return since inception. The QTS data-center platform was the single largest driver of appreciation, fueled by extraordinary leasing momentum.
Blackstone launched several strategic capital initiatives tied to compute and cloud, including a $35 billion financing platform with Broadcom and Apollo to expand Anthropic’s and OpenAI’s compute capacity. The firm committed $5 billion in equity to a new AI cloud venture with Alphabet’s Google and co-founded Ode to accelerate AI deployment across portfolio companies. Blackstone holds stakes in frontier companies such as SpaceX, Anthropic, OpenAI, and CoreWeave. Monetizations, including a $3.5 billion sale of data-center assets to Digital Realty, boosted real-estate performance revenues.
Management said it expects to continue deploying significant capital into AI infrastructure and financing and sees a strong pipeline for fundraising across institutional, credit, and private-wealth channels, while remaining cautious about potential excessive exuberance in the AI sector.
