Astera Labs Q2 results signaled accelerating momentum, as the company told investors on Aug. 4 that record second-quarter revenue and an earlier-than-expected Scorpio X-Series ramp prompted management to lift its fiscal Q3 outlook.

Record Quarter Results

Astera Labs, Inc. (Nasdaq: ALAB) reported Q2 fiscal 2026 revenue of $392.4 million for the quarter ended June 30, up 27% sequentially and 104% year over year. The company’s Form 8-K filed on Aug. 4 showed GAAP diluted earnings per share of $0.83, net income of $153.1 million, operating income of $89.2 million, and a gross margin of 73.3%, with an operating margin of 22.7%. Prior guidance had forecast revenue between $355 million and $365 million, which the company exceeded by about 7% to 10%.

Raised Q3 Guidance and Operational Drivers

On the earnings call, management projected Q3 fiscal 2026 revenue of $540 million to $560 million and non-GAAP EPS of $1.16 to $1.21, implying roughly 40% sequential growth at the midpoint. They forecast a non-GAAP gross margin near 72%, operating expenses between $156 million and $160 million, and an operating margin around 43%. The company reported Q2 non-GAAP diluted EPS of $0.80, a non-GAAP gross margin of 73.7%, and a non-GAAP operating margin of 39.1%, up 290 basis points sequentially.

Management attributed the upgrade to product mix and production timing. PCIe 6.0 products—including Aries retimers and Scorpio fabric switches—accounted for more than half of Q2 revenue, up from about one-third in Q1. Scorpio X-Series switches entered volume production one quarter ahead of plan and are expected to be the largest product family by revenue in Q3. Early pre-production shipments of Taurus 800G optics and interconnect solutions contributed in Q2 and are expected to expand, supporting 100-gigabit-per-lane links for 800-gigabit Ethernet.

Before the report, consensus estimates for Q2 revenue hovered near $360 million to $361 million, with non-GAAP EPS around $0.69. The company’s results exceeded those marks, prompting analysts to raise near-term estimates. The Q2 release and 8-K did not announce any new equity or debt offerings, share repurchases, or dividend actions.

CEO Jitendra Mohan said the results reflected “broad-based strength across our portfolio,” including record quarterly revenue for the Aries product line. Management also noted that Scorpio fabric switches are ramping faster than expected, with momentum set to accelerate in Q3 as Scorpio becomes the largest product family.

The company framed the quarter and guidance as evidence of accelerating demand for rack-scale AI connectivity, driven by broader adoption of AI fabrics, signal conditioning, and optics.
