Accenture Plc and Anthropic said on Sept. 18, 2026, they will embed Accenture evaluators inside Anthropic to assess and red-team frontier AI models, aiming to build independent safety-evaluation capacity and third-party oversight.
Funding and Partnership Structure
Accenture and Anthropic announced a partnership to place Accenture staff inside Anthropic to evaluate frontier AI models. Each company expects to invest at least $1 billion over five years, creating a combined $2 billion capacity buildout for AI safety evaluation. Anthropic will fund Accenture’s work directly. The companies described the arrangement as non-exclusive, with Anthropic planning to add other evaluators in the coming weeks. Accenture may offer embedded evaluation services to additional AI developers. The initiative is framed as a multi-year capacity-building effort rather than a product launch, and no financial guidance or forecasts were disclosed.
Embedded Evaluator Model and Operations
Accenture’s specialist AI business, Faculty, will lead the embedded-evaluator team inside Anthropic, placing staff onsite to evaluate and red-team models, conduct alignment assessments, and test model safeguards. These evaluators will work alongside Anthropic’s internal teams and safety partners. Anthropic said embedded evaluators will have employee-like access to observe models during training, follow development and deployment decisions, and speak directly with employees. The company emphasized that model safety remains its responsibility and that standards for evaluator access and reporting are still being developed. "Embedded evaluators will work inside AI companies, with access comparable to an employee's."
By combining onsite evaluator access with large-scale, multi-year funding, the partnership formalizes a new model for independent review within AI developers and could serve as a template for scaling third-party oversight of frontier AI.
