Tesla Inc. (TSLA) reported Q1 2026 vehicle deliveries of 358,023 on April 2, 2026, missing Wall Street expectations despite a 6.3% year-over-year increase. The company also released production and energy-storage figures that highlight near-term demand challenges.

Deliveries, Production, and Energy Deployments

Tesla produced 408,386 vehicles in the quarter, including 394,611 Model 3 and Y units and 13,775 of other models. Deliveries totaled 358,023, with Model 3 and Y accounting for 341,893 and other models 16,130. Operating-lease accounting represented 1% of Model 3/Y deliveries and 2% of other models. Energy-storage deployments reached 8.8 gigawatt-hours (GWh) during the period.

Demand Trends and Outlook

Deliveries rose 6.3% compared with the first quarter of 2025. Analyst consensus before the report ranged from about 365,645 to 370,000 vehicles, leaving Tesla short of expectations. Market observers cited the expiration of the $7,500 U.S. electric-vehicle tax credit in September 2025 as a factor weighing on demand. Tesla said it will release its financial results after the quarter.
