On Nov. 19, 2025, Nvidia (NVDA) unveiled plans for a Saudi data center at the U.S.-Saudi Investment Forum in Washington, joining Elon Musk’s xAI and Saudi state-backed Humain AI after the U.S. approved sales of American AI semiconductors.
Saudi AI Project and Partnerships
Elon Musk announced a 500-megawatt artificial-intelligence data center in Saudi Arabia in partnership with Humain AI, powered by Nvidia processors, with xAI as the facility’s inaugural customer. The project will start with a 50-megawatt first phase and scale to full capacity.
Nvidia and Humain are also collaborating with Amazon Web Services on a separate 100-megawatt Saudi facility, which they aim to expand toward gigawatt scale. The complex will house hundreds of thousands of Nvidia chips and support advanced AI workloads, including digital twins, robotics, and quantum-computing simulations.
The announcement took place at the U.S.-Saudi Investment Forum in Washington, D.C., attended by Musk, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, and Saudi officials.
U.S. Approval and Nvidia Chip Demand
The U.S. government approved Saudi Arabia’s purchase of American AI semiconductors during Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s visit to Washington, clearing the way for chip exports tied to the project. This approval, combined with xAI’s confirmed role as the first customer, links the initiative to near-term, high-volume demand for Nvidia’s AI processors.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang described the partnership with Humain as reflecting the project’s scale and ambition, emphasizing the immediate demand such a build can generate. The Saudi facility will be equipped with hundreds of thousands of Nvidia chips to run advanced AI workloads, directly tying the project to large-scale overseas hardware consumption.
