Charter Communications Inc. reported on Jan. 30, 2026, that fourth-quarter 2025 revenue declined as lower residential video and political advertising sales weighed on results. Rising mobile lines and stronger free cash flow helped offset the revenue pressure for shareholders.

Quarter Results and Subscriber Mix

Charter said in a press release that fourth-quarter revenue fell 2.3% year-over-year to $13.6 billion, driven by declines in residential video and political advertising. Residential connectivity revenue grew 2.3% to $6.9 billion. Adjusted EBITDA for the quarter was $5.7 billion, down 1.2%.

Subscriber trends showed mixed results. Total Internet customers dropped by 119,000 to 29.7 million, while mobile lines increased by 428,000 to 11.8 million. Video subscribers rose by 44,000 to 12.6 million, and voice customers declined 12.2% to 6.0 million.

Cash Flow and Capital Allocation

For full-year 2025, Charter generated $5.0 billion in free cash flow, up from $4.3 billion the previous year. Capital expenditures totaled $11.7 billion, including $3.9 billion for network upgrades, a 3.5% increase. The company repurchased $5.4 billion of stock, retiring 17.1 million shares.

This combination of rising cash flow, significant buybacks, and continued investment provides Charter flexibility to maintain shareholder returns despite revenue headwinds from video and advertising.
